|Jacob Cook Biography |
Jacob graduated from WAAPA, with Bachelor of Musical Theatre, in 2009 achieving the Leslie Anderson Showcase Award for Most Outstanding Showcase.
Since graduation Jacob has performed in the following productions in Melbourne; THE LAST TEN YEARS (Oz Made Musicals 2012), THE HATPIN * Best Limited Run Concert Musical (nomination) – Theatre peoples Pro Choice Awards 2011* and MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG as part of A SONDHEIM TRIPTYCH at the Melbourne Recital Centre in 2010, all for Magnormos Theatre Company.
2010 also saw Jacob film a Television series pilot, ‘The Caterer’ in Melbourne for the 7 network.
Nurturing the Australian scene of new works is of great importance to Jacob. He has been pleased to be a part of this process of development through the readings and vocal work shopping of three new Australian musicals, FAMILY SPIRIT by Shaun Murphy and Robert Dale, NORMIE the musical launch and, more recently, in Hobart with the musical ANTARCTICAS vocal arrangement workshop.
2011 saw Jacob take up the position of Lead Male vocalist with the Royal Caribbean Production Company on board ‘The Legend of The Seas’ in Swing City, Absolutely Fab and Invitation to Dance.
Returning to Melbourne in 2012, Jacob has continued to perform at a variety of corporate engagements as well as working as an actor for Ready to Roll production company filming workplace corporate coaching videos.
Recently Jacob appeared at the Theatre Royal Backspace, in the TTC and Bijou Creative co-produced Tasmanian Premiere of ORDINARY DAYS, playing Warren.
Jacob was also featured in the July 2013 Festival of Voices program. This included the evening of ‘Voices of Vice’ at The Voice Box along with appearances at The Singers Lounge.
August has see Jacob relocated to London to pursue further opportunities within the entertainment industry. Jacob has recently been seen at ‘Spotlight showcase’ in August and is looking forward to other performances there in the future.
