About:
Laura frequently performs in school workshops, children's events, interactive performance and medical roleplay work. Most of Laura's work includes live interactive character work and site specific or immersive performance. Laura has a particular passion for this type of work and enjoys the connection it allows with the audience.
School Workshops:
Laura runs her own school workshop company, Imagining History, where she performs a variety of educating and entertaining history workshops to KS2 children in primary schools throughout the country. This work involves running engaging activities with up to seventy children at one time and educating them about historical eras from the Stone Age to Ancient Egypt.
Children's Events:
Laura frequently performs in themed children’s entertainment and parties across the North West with Party Friendz events. This involves hosting children's games and performing as various popular characters, including Disney princesses, superheroes and mascot 'fur' characters. She has also previously performed in fun days for children at East Lancs Railway with Attic Door Productions - performing in various different roles, most notably Elsa from Frozen.
Medical Roleplay:
Laura also does regular medical role play work as a simulated patient for clients such as the NHS, the GMC and Lancaster Medical School and UCLAN through Medical Role Players UK Ltd. She has taken roles in OSCE style examinations for training Doctors and Nurses and also NHS Paediatrician Interviews.
Interactive Performance:
Laura takes part in a number of different types of interactive performance. She often performs as 'living history' characters at a variety of museum events; previous venues include Astley Hall, the Harris Museum and Bury Transport Museum. She also has vast experience working in themes murder mystery events having worked with After Dark Mystery Events for three years.
Theatre & Film:
Laura has performed in a wide variety of popular theatre productions around the North West. Laura has recently performed in various family promenade productions, including Alice in Wonderland and Wind in the Willows. She also performed in The Play's The Thing, a Shakespearean comedy dinner show, as a part of Morecambe's Bard by the Beach Shakespeare Festival in 2016. Laura also has a lot of experience in front of the camera, performing in a variety of shorts, feature and student films.
New Writing:
?Laura has a strong passion for fringe theatre and, in the past, has assisted with the development of new writing - In particular with Theatre by Numbers on their Chosen Words project. Laura also co-devised and co-directed her own play, Extreme Withdrawal Is Manifest which was performed at fringe venues throughout the North West and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013 with great success.
Training:
Laura's training at UCLAN included Alba Emoting, Acting for Radio, Acting for the camera, Meyerholds Biomechanics, Devising, Contemporary Theatre, Restoration Theatre, Shakespeare, Stanislavski, the Extended Voice and Acting through Song. Laura continued her training through attending workshops such as the Myth and Theatre Festival hosted by Enrique Pardo and PanTheatre.

Laura is a strong singer and continually develops her technique through attending regular lessons. She has recently achieved Distinction in her LCM Grade 8 Music Theatre Award. She also has vast experience working in acapella harmony groups and choirs. Much of Laura's work involves her singing to a live audience - from character singing in murder mysteries to singing popular Disney songs at children's events.
