  • About
MCS was formed by Keith Bishop in 1991 when he left BBC
TV after 15 successful years. During that time he became friendly with
a wide range of performers, ranging from Radio One disc jockeys to
classical actors and actresses involved in the BBC's high quality drama
    productions.

At the same time, largely thanks to his working role, he built firm and
lasting contacts with almost every part of the British media from tabloid
daily newspapers to high quality prestige magazines. Media exposure
is the lifeblood of public figures - publicity being the oxygen by which
their profile is raised and thus the demand for their services increased.

Says Keith Bishop; 'I was fortunate my role at the BBC involved me
working on a day-to-day basis with some of the biggest names in the
entertainment industry and across the entire media world. At the same
time, the more formal side of my work involved me having to deal with
important issues almost every day which involved very senior people
within the communications business generally. I would sometimes find
myself involved in crucial meetings with the Controller of BBC1, the editor
of the biggest selling newspaper in Britain and a top singer with a current
    number one hit record'!

'It was all part and parcel of a day's work but it meant I was able to form
invaluable contacts and friendships. Then one day I felt the time was right
to leave the security and comfort of the greatest broadcasting organisation
in the world and to have a go at forming my own business. I had to base
that business on what I knew best and that was, and still is, the media'.

As MCS flourished the company began to contract large
companies as clients, providing publicity services and public relations
assistance. Often they were clients for whom MCS's artistes had performed
at company functions. Impressed by the manner in which MCS handled
their event, those same companies often moved to ask the Agency to
advise them on an on-going commercial basis.

'One exciting aspect of our business which is set to grow rapidly is the Audio
Description for Blind dubbing service we provide for BSkyB,' says Keith.
'We have an exclusive contract with Sky and our artistes have been providing
voice-over descriptions of scenes and activity in their programmes since the
    concept was started.
