About me
Experienced actor/entertainer/singer/musician.
Additional Information
I started singing as a teenager in pubs and clubs. At the age of 21 I joined the 'BLACK AND WHITE MINSTREL SHOW'. I then went into touring musical shows with matinee idol John Hanson. A pantomime followed and the next few years were spent in 'WEST END MUSICALS', 'JORROCKS', 'DESERT SONG', 'CHARLIE GIRL'. I then became one-half of a boy-girl cabaret duo with a hit record of a song I had written. Eventually the duo split up and I formed my own cabaret act working both in this country and in Australia. On my return I joined a band playing everything from dinner music to rock 'n roll. I followed this with a foray onto the 'Country music' circuit singing and playing guitar and built up quite a following, even to making another popular record which is still regularly played on Radio Norfolk. I formed a one-man show of self-written songs and monologues which I took to the EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL in 1993 where I won an AWARD. I followed this with another one-man show on the life and songs of Al Bowlly which I took to the JERMYN ST THEATRE which was well received. I have also worked in various summer shows, fringe plays, pantos and performed the lead in a MODERN OPERA 'KILLING TIME' in which I played the part of a bitter middle-aged man being released from prison after serving 17 years for murder. I have also worked as a cabaret artiste and Cruise Director on various cruise ships. I also present a one-man show performing poems and singing songs with guitar and ukulele. In the summer of 2006 I completed a ten-week season at the GAIETY THEATRE, Douglas, Isle-of-Man playing the non-singing part of LIEUTENANT BRANNIGAN in 'GUYS AND DOLLS' for Dick Ray Productions, Jersey. I have an extensive wardrobe including white and black evening wear. I am now doing stand-up comedy incorporating songs with my ukulele
