SPECIALIST HORSE RIDING SKILLS: COMBAT RIDING FOR FILM - 17th/18th Oct
2 DAY COURSE -17th & 18th October 2013
Due to popular demand and the sell out success of our 5 day intensive Horse Riding for Actors courses, Skills4Actors bring you the brand new series of Specialist Horse Riding Skills.
The first in our series is COMBAT RIDING FOR FILM. This two day residential course will teach you three key special combat riding skills, usually associated with battle scenes: - Horse Archery, Trick Riding and Riding for film including Drill Riding, as seen in programmes such as Game of Thrones, Camelot, Merlin, Knights Tale and War Horse.
"The course was very well planned and run, the teaching was exemplary, the horses were beautiful, I came away feeling genuinely confident about being in the saddle and I cannot for the life of me remember when I had such a good weekend. To be cantering hands-free while firing a bow and arrow having never been on a horse before felt absolutely fantastic. The only drawback was the bruising on my arms from pinching myself to remind me I was there for professional reasons! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."
- Gavin Marshall (Actor)
Day One - Thursday 17th October 2013
AM Session - "Riding for Film/TV"
Learning how to ride at a walk trot, canter and gallop, hitting your marks, riding with one hand, how to ride with a flag/ sword, drill work (riding in formation like the King's Troop) and cavalry charges.
