Last year I co-directed, adapted/wrote and performed in The Resurrection Men for Portsmouth based professional fringe company New Apollo. We sold out at all venues and this year will be doing more venues and producing the two gothic classics, The Judge's House and The Monkey's Paw. We are looking for a young Portsmouth based actor to complete the cast, playing the lead role of Malcolm Malcolmson in the first and the supporting role of Herbert White in the second. We are playing pub venues with nine days of rehearsal from the 18th October followed by performances at seven venues. It is profit share unfortunately but I would estimate a payout of something like £150 per actor- not a lot I know! If you are interested let me know, and I'll get scripts sent out to you and bring you in for an informal reading. We're looking for a young male actor over 20 but under 30.

Shouldn't this be in the casting calls?

I think you will get better response there!

To anyone who does not know the Monkey's Paw...it's a fab play...and Herbert is a really nice role for a young actor to play.

Good luck with it.

Thanks for the good luck wishes, Mark and yes, The Monkey's Paw is a superb, atmospheric piece isn't it? The Judge's House is by Bram Stoker and I would urge you to read that too. Re posting it as a job, I appear to be unauthorised to do that, presumably because I am an actor on here, not an employer.

Can I be in it? I make a very convincing boy... perhaps not something to be overly proud of...

I pretty sure Emily must have a stockpile of beards of her own by now...
