| Offering an actor unpaid,uncredited,non-speaking extra work in a feature film that they were unsuccessful in getting a part in, is not a compliment. Not a compliment AT ALL! that's all I have to say on that matter. sheesh, they sure know how to offend someone who's already on a low from being rejected a part they really wanted. | ||

| Wow, mate. It just shows how unthinking and bloody stupid some people in casting are! It all starts from the fact that so many people are prepared to do work for nothing so they expect everyone to be alike. Sadly one of Equity's past President (Harry Landis) made the famous quote that Actors love their work so much they would do it for nothing'. Twit that he is. | |

| Well Mr. Landis is gone now and I can assure you that, even in his day, actors still had mortgages/rent, utility bills, transport expenses and children to feed occasionally! Yes we love to act but don't think for a second you can mug us off! GGrrrr! | |

| Nathen my sweet, just tell em straight. 'I'm not an extra and I certainly don't work for free.' or don't bother replying to the email. That's what I do. When you start to feel angry, you know the other person is just taking the piss and your so much better than that. x | |

| Now that this discussion has drifted off into an attack on Harry Landis, let me be the first to rush to his defence. He has been misrepresented and misquoted and, no, he's not my dad! The source of the "quote" is http://www.bl.uk/projects/theatrearchive/landis3.html where he makes it perfectly clear that he is not at all in favour of actors working for nothing - he simply recognises that it happens. He has fought as hard as anyone in Equity to ensure that actors are properly rewarded for their work. We owe him thanks, not a knee in the groin... | |

| Nope not a compliment at all but at least they still need you and you can play with that somehow. Dont let it get to you as your frustration may well show for your next audition. Politely turn them down and move on. | |
