I have short films which I want to show/send via the internet. However, I recieve the films from production in CD format. Can anyone recommend a good computer program that enables conversion of CD format to digital file? If so where can I get it and for how much.

With thanks
Tom

CCP now allows the upload of files up to 100MG, so you should fine it pretty easy to upload the footage to your CCP profile. Once uploaded others can view your file and you can track how often it is viewed - great for seeing if your promotional emails/letters are working.

Alternatively you can always post the video in to us for conversion.

Our new files page also displays videos up to 608 pixels wide, and the full screen option displays video at the resolution you uploaded.

Thanks,

CCP Tech

Up to 100 mb for free for each conversion at Zamzar conversions. Or download mpeg stream clip. Both are great.

well done ccp....this is a great improvement on the old system.

Tom....also look at AVS video converter, as well as AVC video converter. You may have to pay a few dollars to get the full working versions....I don't use them myself....but from what I have seen they are pretty good for the price or free even.

Super converter (yes that's it's name) for PC is entirely free. Navigating their website is trickier than it should be but hey, free is free.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

I have only just noticed the recent posts so have not checked out all the sites. I had problems witht he first two sites from the first post. With Zamzar the conversion kept cancelling half way through saying there was an 'internal error'; not knowing the meaning of this I changed the conversion hoping it would help but there was no change. It says the CD is a VOB file and I was changing it to mpg - I hope this is right.

For the other one - Squared5, I needed to upload a specific version of Quicktime media player. I will try the other sites out but as yet no joy.

GUYS!!

Sorry to pee on your bonfires....but many of these freebie media converters and the like, are free for one reason only.....to attract advertising on their websites and to gain your email addresses to sell on to spammers!!

Therefore, the products are often packed with bugs and the like....some of them are so bad they can ruin the operating system....I'm not saying the ones suggested are...but tread v carefully with free software!!

Other products are free to use as they are just trial versions of very good products....but to get the full working product...you will have to pay a bit...varying prices from Ģ10 - Ģ70 etc etc.

Yes...they can serve a purpose......but they almost always do not do as a good as job as you might think they will do or promise.

CARLOS: Just copy the link where your youtube Video is....and then paste that link in an email or whereever you like....that should work. On Youtube I think there is a share link button....which gives you the full URL and link information you need to copy.

Hope that helps
