Like everyone else I send out so many prints and they always come back folded/creased/curled so generally I write them off and get new ones. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get the creases out so that they're reusable?

Curling can be reversed by placing the prints between two large heavy books and then placing a few more heavy books on top. Simple yet effective.

Creases and folds cannot really be satisfactorily removed.

I never expect them back to be honest!

Do you add a HARD BACKED addressed return A4 envelope with your letter? Do you send your application in a hard backed envelope in the first place?

Best to send in a hard backed envelope and enclose a sticker for return address…..for the person to use when sending back…..then you only need one envelope and it comes back…hopefully!

Use some cheap thin cardboard in the envelopes instead of buying purpose made envelopes.....and be sure to add enough stamps. Check out some photographers and or similar businesses to see about buying used hard envelopes off them?

Simple but effective...always write "PLEASE DO NOT BEND" on both sides of your application?

Above all - I would review your photo printing costs, and write off the sent photo, treating any returned ones as an added bonus!

...oh and a bit of very gentle steam ironing of the print carefully between cotton sheets may help to lift the crease!! A heavily creased Photo will have probably had it though!

I send them in a plastic folders but when you start sending hard backed envelopes then paying the extra postage for the weight and finding bigger envelopes to accommodate the hard backed envelope you find that it costs tons more than if you just bought a new headshot. :oP And I don't expect head shots back but people seem to feel guilty putting them in the recycling.
