| Hi, just wondering why agent still prefer postal applications to emails, as the first ones works out quite expensively, just a thought really, which probably has been asked and answered many times, but still would like to know, thanx | ||

| Best think to do is check in the latest addition of Contacts 2010. THis book has all agents information including whether they accept email or postal submissions. Most agents do still prefer postal. Helpful hint....posting can be cheaper if you go to the post ofice and use the self service system where you weigh and print your own labels. You'll find that your submission are cheaper this way then by using standard size stamps. | |

| Thanks Laz - please tell us more. I thought I knew everything there was to know about Post Office services but have never heard of self service weighing & printing. Do all Post Offices offer this? | |

| Not all post offices have this...but alot of them do and it's alot quicker to use self service than wait in a queue. Definately worth checking out - I have saved a lot of money with this. | |

| Simon Dunmore's book gives more detailed info about how to approach various different Agents - it's updated each year. Actor's Year Book 2010 is out now, and 2011 is due to be published on 28 Sep. | |

| Any thoughts on just sending a 6 x 4 photo instead of a 10 x 8 and saving money on postage as you can send a smaller envelope? | |

| I wouldn't advise it to a Casting Director or Agent - some may be ok with it, but many require 10 x 8 if you want them to think about you as a serious actor. | |

| Hey there, My agent actually often sends out smaller photos having spoken with a lot of casting directors who don't mind at all and in fact appreciate that it saves money all round. I have also recently started sending out smaller photos when I make my own applications and it hasn't prevented me getting auditions as far as I'm aware. If they then want me to bring a larger photo along to the audition then I can do it then. But this is just my experience of course :-) | |

| Hi Dalia, Where are you getting your 10X8's from for £4.99 each? That is way too much. Invest in getting reproductions at a repro company...depending on the quantity they can work out at less than £1 a print. I use www.moorfieldsphoto.com They do them really quickly and are excellent quality. Hope this helps :) | |
