Nigel.Peever 344 posts last on: 07/02/12 send private reply	Left the house at 5 am yesterday to go and do a couple of shows only to find an arsonist had written off my car and three others. This is just six months after a car thief wrecked another car by destroying the ignition system and a year and a half since another car was written off by another car thief . I've been very lucky with work lately but dear god! None of get paid well enough to be able to keep recovering from these problems let alone enough to be able to move house!!!!

Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to the things which happen and we just have to hang on in there until things get better. But if this has happened a few times & to your neighbours can you guys not get together and do something?

When I was one of the Texas rangers on boon in the eighties and someone stole my motorbike I thought it might help if I got the newspaper involved it made the front page ! Unfortunately it also panicked the thief who dumped it and burnt it. While doing some corporate work in Bristol I got back to the car park to find my locks wrecked so that even I couldn't get in, while filming the grand for Granada somone stole another car another motorbike stolen at college surely this has to be worse than average doesn't it? As for insurance lee once you take the excess off a cheap car there's not a lot left to pay out:-(

I live in Crewe and only buy cheap cars mainly cos I can't affford nice ones but also largely cos I've been the victim of so much car theft. When I was one of the Texas rangers on boon in the eighties and someone stole my motorbike I thought it might help if I got the newspaper involved it made the front page ! Unfortunately it also panicked the thief who dumped it and burnt it. Nigel.Peever 344 posts last on: 07/02/12 send private reply	Oh and the windscreen smashed by a vandal break in where my friend heard it and stopped the thief while I was staying at his house and motorbike ignition hot wired while it was chained to a fence you'd think they would have cut it free first? The problem is now if I catch someone I don't know what I might do to them. I'm sure theta more too lol sob :-)

We had a clapped out old banger (ee still do, just a different one!) which kept getting broken into and in the end, my husband left it unlocked so that at least they stopped smashing the window which was costng sa fortune to replace!! Therer was never anything worth nicking, the CD had already been previously nabbed - very weird. They did take some sermon CDs once, which probably didn't get them a lot at the pub!! :) Poor, poor you - I used to live in Bristol - which car park? Were you filming at Happy Hour Productions - that is a bit dodgy round there... xx

Oh Nigel!! We had a clapped out old banger (ee still do, just a different one!) which kept getting broken into and in the end, my husband left it unlocked so that at least they stopped smashing the window which was costng sa fortune to replace!! Therer was never anything worth nicking, the CD had already been previously nabbed - very weird. I no longer own a car: we made a conscious decision to move to central London so that we wouldn't need one, and I feel incredibly lucky to be so close to good public transport. I myself have been a victim of crime too many times (burglary, including one episode of 3 burglaries in 10 days). Crime can wreck your life.

Gosh, Nigel, how awful - I do feel for you. When I saw the title of your thread ('Nasty shock') I thought it was going to be a rant about the new coalition government! Governments come and go and still criminals carry on making peoples' lives a misery. I no longer own a car: we made a conscious decision to move to central London so that we wouldn't need one, and I feel incredibly lucky to be so close to good public transport. I myself have been a victim of crime too many times (burglary, including one episode of 3 burglaries in 10 days). Crime can wreck your life.
