| Hello Peeps, Hope you are all having a good day. Just after some advice really, I am performing in a show on the Battersea Barge next month and it would be an excellent showcase opportunity for me. Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom on the best way to invite industry peeps to this??? Ta muchly! | ||

| Hi there! Well, firstly well done for wanting to showcase yourself at Battersea Barge! Its a great venue to do just that! Who is organising it? Or are you taking full responsibility? The only reason why I ask is because I went to see my friends showcase and it was a huge success, with many people from the industry coming to support her... Secondly, if it is being organised by a young Irish guy, I'd say, dont touch it with a barge pole (pardon the pun)! My same friend and I performed there in a show he put on, and it was totally awful, v unprofessionally put together! The barge can hold up to (ground floor) maximum, 55 people (its a moored boat) so space is limited, but there is an upstairs too where guests can go but they wouldnt be able to see yr show.. Hope the above helps and Good luck with it all, Linda John-Pierre | |

| First of all best of luck with showcase...Get hold of the latest copy of contacts and send invites along with photos & cv then get on the phone. Phone agents and casting agents..When I did this before our showcase I was expecting to be given `short shrift` but was pleasantly surprised by the interest shown ... You will be playing the numbers game ie the more you invite [in our case pretty much the whole of contacts] the better chance of a good turnout.. And remember when making the calls that even if they can`t attend you are still making a potential handy contact [ I actually got my agent this way,,could`nt attend but invited me in for meeting] best of luck Aidan x | |

| Thanks so much for your responses. All great advice - thank you!! It is actually a charity fundraiser for Womens Refuge and A21, which is being organsied by a good friend and fellow performer. So we are hoping to raise funds as well as use it as a showcase opportunity. So shameless plug - 10th March Battersea Barge, 'She Sings' Thanks to you both, :-) | |

| I was in Twelfth Night in Glasgow last month and invited loads of agents, casting directors etc. As far as I know none of them came. But on a whim I invited a local theatre director and someone I had contacted on this website for a casting call. They both came and I got cast for both of their projects. In the future I'll definitely be inviting local directors etc. as well as the usual industry people. Hope that this helps.Good luck. | |
