I've got an audition for Merchant of Venice this weekend, and have been asked for a Portia speech. Now I would normally avoid 'the quality of mercy' speech like the plague, but seeing as I am auditioning FOR Portia, do you think its worth giving it a crack?

Lindsay ... use it as your second bullet.... out of all the actors being viewed for Portia .. 99% of them will give that speech ... stand out, be different !!!.

I agree with the above.

Learn it, but learn one of her others too. At the audition, ask which they'd prefer to hear and present both if requested.

Good luck!!
