| Happy New Year everyone! OK, I know that this is really self obsessed, but I've just had photos done, and I can't look at them anymore in an attempt to make a decision - I have lost the ability to look at them objectively (if I ever had it!) I've uploaded some of the ones I like on my page - would you do me a favour and let me know what you think of them? After asking opinions of friends and boyfriend and family, I think its about time I asked the people who know what they are talking about!! Many Thanks in advance, Lindsey xxx | ||

| I think they all have something different in them. Very difficult to make a choice, I'm not surprised you're struggling! My initial thought was for number 4 - so I'll stick with that! | |

| I, too can see why you're struggling. 1 and 4 are very proffessional woman. 3 is my least fave. 2 is a bit wide eyed...maybe woman scorned. 5 is athletic woman. So I suppose you need to consider what kind of roles you normally go for. They are all great pics, very clear, no shadows, you can see your face etc. So yes, difficault, but I would go with 1 or 4. Hope I haven't offended in any way.. Sarah xx | |

| The one you're currently using as your main photo, definitely. It says enough about you, and crucially, unlike all the others, it's neutral enough to let whoever might view it project their ideas on to you. Generally you might want to ignore actors, who as a whole, tend to be more expert at looking at themselves! Joking aside, I'm sure by the fact that you want to get it right, means sooner rather than later your attention to detail will be rewarded. Good luck, Paul | |

| Yes I agree with all the others. 1 is the best neutral one, but I do think that 4 is the most striking (ie lifts you off the page a bit). I would advise 4, but if it was me I know I would play it safe and go for 1. Hope this helps. Incidentally, I have had a colour photo for the last year (as per the USA) and have had no end of compliments. It had to be turned into a B&W for CCP, but for Spotlight and everything else it is there in colour as well. Hence I will always have colour photo's taken in future. I really do think it is the way forward. Regards Jane | |

| Just speaking out loud to echo what Jane Dodd said: colour is the future. In fact, we've been shooting and viewing in colour for half a century (and theatre's hardly monotone). America leads the common sense way, and ditches tradtion, even if we look 'dramatic' in B&W. Although many things look good in black and white, an acting headshot should be about accuracy, and that can only ever be close in colour. Rainbow Paul | |

![]() anonymous | Hello Lyndsey! The one you are using is the best one as it's neutral but still communicates something of you. Your photographer should have talked to you about your casting type and decided how to reflect this in your photo - it's really important that your photo looks like the person who walks through the door. My face is a bit weird when it's photographed so my photographer John Clark took loads and showed me how my face worked best. He also did NO retouching (aaaggh!!) because he said you need to show all the character in the face, not have a blank canvas. But you're much younger and prettier than me, so not an issue for you yet!! As others have mentioned I have one colour shots as well as my two B/W ones as it shows my strident hair colour! I have sent the colour one with all my applications and it's also on my Spotlight page. Hope this helps - you have a lovely face! :) |

| Hi, I'm afraid I'm going to have to put the cat amongst the pigeons and disagree with most opinions so far. I would go with 5, or failing that 3. They seem the softer, more approachable shots of you with, in my opinion, a wider casting potential. The others seem a little stark and would seem to limit castings to strong, business types only. Hope that helps. Regards, David. | |

![]() anonymous | I like number 4 and your main one as a decent 'neutral' shot...4 is a bit less groomed, maybe a bit more natural, young mum, teacher, etc...whereas number 1 is more high flyer? To hop onto the colour band wagon I do agree it's helpful to have a colour shot, it's what the casting director will see when we enter the room after all! |
