| Going to the festival this weekend. Anybody wish to sell their show to me as I am at a loss as to what I should go and see. Have a few things in mind but open to suggestions. Grant | ||

| Go and see my friend in "A History of Scotland in 60 minutes of less". It's a kids' show, but very funny and a good hour's entertainment. | |

| I will recommend 'The Terrible Infants' which is on at the E4 Udderbelly (although it might prove an expensive ticket!). It's being performed by some friends of mine. Do not be fooled by the fact that it is, ostensibly, a play for 'children'; it's, in fact, a wildly imaginative, well-crafted and very funny set of fairytale like 'cautionary' stories for the modern age. The performances are brilliant, the set design is brilliant; it is one of the best fringe shows I have seen in the last year. You might keep an eye out for Three's Company's 'Auditorium' as well (I auditioned for this show and didn't get it, sadly, but I loved the premise). The show has been getting very creditable reviews. It's basically a farce revolving around a Pirandello like situation where the characters begin to realise that they are, in fact, characters in a play...the audience get involved...it's a very clever use of this conceit. For something more 'down to earth', my good friend Rob Benson is performing his one-man show 'Borderline', which is about the schizophrenic comedowns of one man who spent his youth on the rave scene in the mid 90's. This may sound like it's heavy going, but, in fact, it's a play that is full of quirky comedy and genuinely touching moments. It's modern and urban in tone, and steers well away from being self-indulgent (as so many one man shows tend to be). It'll keep you gripped from start to finish, and you may be amazed, as the Scotsman was, to see what inventive use can be made of a single chair during the course of a play!! | |

New musical play losely based on richard 3rd, pretty different to everything else i have seen so far, and has had great reveiws. some things that im not in but have really enjoyed (!) : virtuous flock at C (either plus one or two) at 1.40ish a midsummer nights maddness at 5pm at C Soco studio 2 house of mirrors 10.50pm C+2 Next things you know afternoon (not sure what time sorry!) C+2 the last two are by the same company, and i dont know anyone in that company and have no agenda to advertise, but both shows were brilliantly written and performed. very different from eachother and all origional stuff, i really enjoyed both of them. hope that helped! | Real Babies Don't Cry at The Gilded Balloon - winner of Fringe First Award. Also, again at the Gilded Balloon, the Ian Dury show (can't remember exact name). Very good show, esp if you like the music! I'm hopefully going back up soon - can't wait! :) | |
