In response to your requests, we have now built a new service for users interested in earning extra cash by working as promotional staff. The new site Promo Jobs Pro is designed to put your profile in front of the leading promotions agencies from across the UK. As this is an entirely new service there are currently no employers or job opportunities listed on the site. In fact we won't be opening the site to employers until the site has 2,000 members. That being said, if you have experience of promotional work and would like to join the new service before it goes life, you can do so now. There are no costs and should you be one of the first 2,000 users to complete a profile we'll issue you with lifetime free membership to the site. Which means you'll never be charged for the services Promo Jobs Pro offers. Site Admin 245 posts last on: 08/02/12 send private reply	Hi Abbey, Users can only join the "talent network" once, sites included in the "talent network" can be seen on the grey bars to the right of your screen. Promo Jobs Pro is an entirely stand alone service, which means users can be both a member of CCP and Promo Jobs Pro. Thanks, Chris

anonymous	i stil am a bit confused about that as i am a musical theatre performer i am sure the singerspro would be of benefit to me to....i dont understand why i am restricted?

It is of no use to me yet as there is no group set up in my area. However, others might be luckier in finding a local group already operating. Google in those words and see if there is a group near you. The idea is that any clients of Slivers of Time can "scoop up" a number of people who have an hour or so (or whatever) per day/week to do that client's routine temp. job. I think it is just getting going, so bear with it. People are like "walk-ons" in the acting industry, only in other fields where an occasional temp needs to be done. With the forthcoming CCP service, posters should be well served to sell small amounts of their time. The trouble with most part-time jobs is that they are almost full-time each and every week.

Having worked on all sides of temp recruitment - as a consultant, an employer and a temp, I can't see it working and I can't see it paying very well. I also can't see how it would work with your tax code. I guess you'd have to do it at BR and claim it back at the end of the tax year? I don't think the site is very user friendly for people having a look, as I just did. It seems to be taking a long time to get off the ground too. Is anyone registered with them? Does it work? Do you get a good rate of pay? S x

Hmmm Just looked at this web site. Having worked on all sides of temp recruitment - as a consultant, an employer and a temp, I can't see it working and I can't see it paying very well. I also can't see how it would work with your tax code. I guess you'd have to do it at BR and claim it back at the end of the tax year?

I don't think the site is very user friendly for people having a look, as I just did.

Hi Kate

I've come across this before on this message board.

You have to take the date the thread was started from the 1st reply - which in this case is the 1st June 2006, as what happens is the date on the thread's initial post changes to the date of the last post - which in this case is probably today!

So when Flamingo22 posted it changed the date to the date of her post, which is nearly 2 years after the initial post was made, if you see what I mean.

Before that started I was like the people here, looking for that illusive part-time flexible work, so heres some of what I have found: working on elections for the local counil, this can be a yearly thing, as they look for people to go to houses and get names on the elctorial role, pay is reasonable, and the later is quite flexible, as it only requires that you do this between certain dates. People per hour is also a way of making money from home in admin work, so you set what works for you and apply for the jobs which works for you, but the pay can be a bit low. Teaching one to one from my home, then I was able to do it around whatever I was doing. Do workshops for schools and various groups. Guess the best place to start from is what is it you are willing to do and see if there are ways of making that work for you. Thinking outside to box. That is how I have ended up with the regular singing work now, as I really had to focus my energy on finding regular part-time performing work and that really helped, as I started on the busking scheme at Covent Garden, then got on the London Underground scheme and then now in restaurants, so hence it has grown nicely over the last 4 years. I think that is the other thing I've learn is this takes years to set up, but the first step is deciding to make the transition for 'normal' work to the performing side of things. In the mean time, there is a lot of part-time work of 'admin' kind, but once again, my experience has been, it needs a bit of stepping outside the norma and talking to others on how they do it, so if you know people doing workshops in schools, speak to them! Plus offer your services to them, as they may be looking for someone just like you.
