Equity Fringe Agreement
An important note from the UK trade union for professional performers and creative practitioners...
“Even if you are operating on a micro budget which makes paying full union rates impossible, you may be able to offer Equity contracts.
Equity has a range of agreements specially designed for productions which cannot pay full rates.
In theatre, the Equity Fringe Agreement starts at the legal minimum wage and statutory holiday pay. In film the Equity Student Film and Non-Commercial Film contracts also start at very affordable rates. Using an Equity agreement puts you in touch with the best professional performers; allows you to post your advertisement in the ‘paid’ section of our website; creates a clear efficient framework for avoiding and resolving problems during the production; and protects you from risks of legal action.
If you would like to find out more about using Equity agreements for your fringe theatre or micro budget film production contact Equity’s Low Pay No Pay Organiser Emmanuel de Lange on email@example.com”
