I am a character actor with a huge passion for comedy, great comic timing and a deep love of Shakespeare.
My favourite comic roles to date have been Sister Pauline, an obsessive-compulsive nun, and Mrs Wentworth-Brewster, Noel Coward's aging widow who finds a scandalous new lease of life in Capri. My favourite classical roles have been Dorine, the quick-witted maid in Tartuffe, and Chiron in an all-female production of Titus Andronicus which, being a bit of a tomboy at heart, meant that I relished the chance to play a male character.
I have a BA in English Literature and Drama from Plymouth University, moving from there straight into training under Amanda Redman at the Artists Theatre School. I then spent a year at the New York Film Academy before completing my professional training with two years under James Price at The Acting Studio, Inc. New York.
I am inspired by challenges and thrive on pushing myself to new heights, so I am always looking for challenging and demanding roles that will help me grow as an actor. My dream role is Viola in Twelfth Night and, as a huge admirer of the work of April de Angelis, any character written by her!
I also have a deep love of music fuelled by musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, PJ Harvey and the Pixies. I am a trained drummer and a beginner guitarist with a good ear for music that also stands me in good stead for accents.
Ultimately, I'm good at spirited, gutsy characters (classical and contemporary), and love the chance to make people laugh!
