About me
After 20 years performing across the country as front man of "Oxford's one-band-riot" Smilex, building a reputation on the underground for being one of the best, most daring and interesting performers. In light of said band's inactive status, I have turned back to my first love (before being seduced by the rock 'n' roll path/lifestyle) of film. As a kid, I was obsessed by film and wanted to be involved in film, whether it be as a writer, director or actor. Since deciding this, I have made and starred in a short slasher flick/mixtape NEVER WALK ALONE which I sell independently online for Survivors Trust charity. I have also been working with a collaborator on various comedy webseries' (writing, shooting and voice acting). Previous to this, I have featured in over a twenty music videos, some with elements of acting, physical theatre and more. I have also appeared in the documentary 'Anyone Can Play Guitar' and presented radio and compered live events for twenty years and interviewed Jason Pierce of Spiritualised for local television and many more musicians for radio and have, of course, been interviewed myself for both of these. My live performance style is unique, energetic and physical - the art of being a front man is a dying one and I incorporate absolutely anything that feels right in order to imprint the performance on the audience - from playing in drag or costume to climbing scaffolds and smashing glasses over my head to inciting a hail storm of various missiles from the audience. I have been compared to Iggy Pop, Marilyn Manson, Prince, David Bowie and more.Additional skills:
singing, producing, recording, dance, willing to do stunts, presenting, voice over, radio, comedy, performance art, costume performance, directing, character acting, physical performance, lip syncing.
Additional information:
I am a huge fan of cinema, and comics plus hugely knowledgeable on music/pop culture. I've worked in many teams and ensembles so have a good feel for when to step back and support others and when to take lead under duress. I have much experience waiting around for my moment while the show is set up etc. In my performance, I have learnt over time to completely transform myself. I've also contributed music to various short film projects.
