About me
For me, exploring drama is akin to exploring the world and our connection to it. I am fascinated by the nature of stories and where they find us in the real world: the point where the imaginary and the literary converge with real experience and emotion. As a young child, I grew up in a household where songs, poems and Shakespeare were commonplace. When I first discovered that acting was an option to choose in secondary school, it seemed obvious to go for it. The freedom of self-expression was not only a great thrill, but exposed me to what I could see as a world of creative possibility. The last four years of training have given me the opportunity to fully immerse in many different forms of drama and drama training from Stanislavski to Grotowski and Suzuki, and have left me with a deep appreciation and aptitude for a variety of different styles and genres of performance. During my period at RADA, I developed a particular fondness for mime, clowning and classical texts, and discovered that I had an adept sensitivity to movement and physical comedy.
I am now looking to move on to expand my craft; as a professional actor, I endeavor try and find how the imaginary and the real connect under the differing filters of style to produce something that is artful yet honest to myself and the given reality of a production. I am interested in being part of work which is intriguing, adventurous and above all, entertaining.
